M/S. SAHYADRI INDUSTRIES LTD., PUNE'S LEADERS IN MANUFACTURING FIBRE CEMENT ROOFING SHEETS IS AWARDED WITH "THE BEST PERFORMING WIND FARM"

Pune, 9th April 2011: The Sahyadri Industries Ltd., Pune's leaders in manufacturing Fibre Cement Sheet have recently been awarded the "Best Performing Wind Farm" for the year 2008-09.

The award was presented during the International Conference on "Wind Energy 20 by 2020" held at Pragati Maidan New Delhi recently.

Mr. Suresh Joshi, Director Sahyadri Industries Ltd received the award at the hands of Hon. Shri Pramod Deo, Chairman Central Electricity Regulatory Authority Speaking during the occasion, Mr. Suresh Joshi, Director Sahyadri Industries Ltd said, "I'm extremely honoured to have received this award for the company. Sahyadri Industries Ltd is one of the largest manufacturers of fibre cement roofing sheets under the brand name `SWASTIK' and have their presence not only in Maharashtra but in most parts of the country.

A project manufacturing An innovative environmentally friendly product called `Ecopro' used as demountable partition and in dry walling for speedy constructions is in advanced stages of implementation. `Ecolite' Autoclaved Aerated Concrete light weight blocks used in high rise building and construction industry is manufactured by sister concern of the Company.

Mr. Satyen Patel, Director Commercial and founder further added, "Sahyadri Industries Ltd., is proud to have received this award for the third consecutive year. In addition to being leaders in the manufacturing the fibre cement sheets we are also in the business of power generation with a present capacity of 23.2MW. We have a future expansion plan for both these businesses".

Pune, 2009: The 550-crore, Pune-based Sahyadri Industries Ltd, recently bagged two awards for the "Best Performing Wind Mills of the member companies" for the years 2006-07 & 2007-8 at the 13th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Indian Wind Power Association which was held at Hotel Jennys Residency in Coimbatore.

They have won these prestigious awards in the sector comprising of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan and MP for two consecutive years 2006-07 and 2007-08. These wind mills of the German based Enercon GmbH were the first massive machines of 600 KW to be installed in India way back in 2001 with the latest gearless wind turbines technology.

The awards were received by Mr. Satyen. V. Patel, Director, Commercial and Mr. S.U Joshi, Director at the hands of the honorable Chief Guest Dr. Pramod Deo, Chairman, Central Electricity Regulatory Commission, New Delhi. Also present on the occasion were Guest of Honour Shri Prasad R. Menon, Director of Tata Power, Mumbai, Shri Mahesh Makhija, VP (Renewables) CLP Power, Ahmedabad, and other prominent luminaries from the power generation fields.

Sahyadri Industries Ltd., are having around 42 wind mills with a generating capacity of 33MW's of electricity located in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. The group is also into real estate development.
